Fort Myers police are still searching for 78-year-old Porter Taylor Albert who has been missing since January.

Porter Taylor Albert’s last known location was at the Big Lots store on N. Cleveland Ave. in North Fort Myers. (FMPD)

Albert was last seen in the Big Lots department store at 13970 N. Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers on Jan. 15, 2020 at 6:45 p.m. and is known to frequent the 3000 block of Cleveland Avenue. Police say he is known for helping others in need.

About a week after his disappearance, FMPD considered the case suspicious. Albert lives alone and has no local relatives who can confirm when he was last seen.

On Jan. 26, 2020, detectives found someone else driving his car, who was arrested. The suspect said she was looking for Albert. Following this, police extended their search for Albert.

There have been no new developments in the search since the end of January, according the FMPD. They sent out a release Tuesday looking for any new information on the case.

If you have seen Albert or have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact Detective Vincent Doyle with the Fort Myers Police Department at 239-321-7742. You can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-780-TIPS. You could receive up to $3,000 in reward money.
