Pedestrian in critical condition after Immokalee crash

An Immokalee man was critically injured after being struck by a car in Immokalee Monday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car being driven by an 18-year-old from Immokalee with a 16-year-old passenger was eastbound on Colorado Avenue, approaching the intersection of South 7th Street. The pedestrian was walking south, crossing Colorado Avenue on South 7th Street, when he entered the lane occupied by the car.

The left front of the oncoming car collided with him. The pedestrian landed in the eastbound lane of Colorado Avenue and the car came to a controlled stop in the same lane.

The pedestrian has yet to be identified.
