A semi drove into five vehicles who were stopped on Charlotte Harbor Bridge due to a previous crash. (CREDIT: FDOT) Troopers have released details on a 6-vehicle crash that closed down the Charlotte Harbor Bridge, on I-75, on Saturday. According to a news release, five vehicles were moving slowly due to another crash earlier in the day when a semi-truck failed to slow down, striking them. Four patients were flown to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and several others were taken to other area hospitals. This was the third crash of the day within a five-mile radius on that stretch of I-75 South on Saturday. No other information is known at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
