Vicente N. Funes Cruz (Credit: Collier County Sheriff’s Office) A Naples man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual activity and molestation of a 15-year-old. 42-year-old Vicente N. Funes Cruz was found guilty in September of inappropriately touching a child during a several-month period. The state’s attorney sentencing document says the child told a family member and a friend about what was happening. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office was then contacted and arrested Funes Cruz. After a three-day trial, Funes Cruz was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual activity with a child and 15 years in prison for lewd or lascivious molestation. The sentences will be served concurently. He is also now considered a sexual predator. Funes Cruz’s sentence also states that he must pay court costs, the cost of prosecution and the cost of the investigation. The exact amount he owes was not listed in the state’s attorney document.
