A car that burst into flames in front of a home in Lehigh Acres early Wednesday morning is now being investigated as arson.

The Lehigh Acres Fire Department responded to the fire in front of a home near the corner of Pine Lane and Pine Court around 4:10 a.m.  No one was in the 2002 Toyota Solara at the time and no one was injured. LAFD says it only took around 30 seconds to extinguish the fire.

The fire evidently started in the engine compartment of the vehicle. LAFD has handed the investigation over to the state and encourages anyone with information on who may have started the fire to call 1-877-662-7766. You can also contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 1-800-780-8477 to be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
