Cape Coral man sentenced to 13 years for DUI manslaughter case

A Cape Coral man was sentenced to 13 years and three months in prison for one count of DUI manslaughter.

Nathaniel O’Dea was also sentenced to a consecutive five years of probation for one count of DUI with serious bodily injury. He also had his license permanently revoked.

The crash happened in 2020 on Burnt Store Road in Lee County.

Prosecutors said O’Dea has been drinking and crashed head-on into a car driving in the opposite lane.

The crash killed the passenger in the other vehicle, a 30-year-old man.

The Cape Coral Police Department investigated the crash.
