Published: Updated:

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a possible road rage incident on I-75 near the Alico Road exit in Lee County.

Troopers say at 7:25 a.m. a 29-year-old man from Miami was driving his black Toyota car southbound when his car was shot at twice; once in the hood and once in a rear door.

Troopers were seen looking at the vehicle and under the hood while taking photos.

They said they are speaking with the driver to find out exactly what happened after he pulled over when his vehicle became disabled.

The shooter remains unknown, described as a man driving a newer model Nissan Sentra, black in color.

Lt. Greg Bueno with FHP said, “We are interviewing the driver, he is not injured. There are no injuries known at this point involved in this incident.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-(TIPS).

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

WINK News has reported on four separate road rage attacks on I-75 alone in the past 12 months.
