A man was assaulted and robbed at knifepoint at a Days Inn in south Fort Myers on Monday morning.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to reports of a robbery at the Days Inn located at 11435 S. Cleveland Ave. at around 7:45 a.m. When the deputy arrived, the victim said two people had attacked him and taken several items from him inside his room.

The victim reported that he had an argument with one of them, a woman, the night before, which ended with her leaving the room they had been sharing for the night. The victim explained that when she returned on Monday morning, he asked her to leave, as he did not want further issues. While she was grabbing her belongings there was a knock at the room door; upon answering the door, the victim says another man shoved his way in.

The victim said that the other man began punching him in the face while the woman held him down. After being beaten, the victim says he was put in a chair and threatened with a knife by the pair. The two then took items that belonged to him from his pockets and
room. These included:

  • Green Motorola stylus phone with black case valued at $300
  • Black Polo wallet valued at $30
  • Florida driver’s license
  • Social security card
  • Cash

The victim says the pair threatened him not to leave his room, as two other people would be waiting for him outside if he did. They left the room shortly after.
