Dry, warm Tuesday before rain chances start increasing

We’ll get to enjoy another dry day across Southwest Florida on Tuesday, with highs running above average. Temperatures will top off in the mid- to upper 80s under a mix of sun and clouds.

Humidity will continue to increase across the area into the end of the week as a front moves into then stalls across the Florida Peninsula. As it does so, a few showers will return to the area by Wednesday evening, with daily chances for a few hit-or-miss showers through Thursday into the weekend.

For cool weather lovers, this front, unfortunately, will not bring us a cooldown or a drop in humidity. We’ll keep with slightly above-average highs through the end of October.

We continue to track a few disturbances across the Atlantic Basin. A cluster of storms near Bermuda has a 40% chance of development as of 8am but is moving northward, and will not pose any threat to Southwest Florida. It may, however, bring some impacts to the Northeast and areas like Maine in the next couple of days, regardless of it becomes a tropical system.

The next area is a region north of Puerto Rico that may see an area of low pressure develop within it over the next few days. That has a 30% chance of tropical development, but should not pose any threat to the United States.

The newest area of interest is in the eastern Caribbean. While there is nothing in this area quite yet, we may see an area of low pressure form within it by early this weekend. Right now the National Hurricane Center is giving that a 20% chance of development. It is way too early for specifics, including whether or not it will even form, just an area to watch for now!
