A group called “Gentlemen Against Domestic Violence” is trying to help victims in Southwest Florida by going door-to-door.

They aren’t asking for money instead, they’re talking about a service that could save you or somebody you know or love.

The Naples Shelter for Abused Women & Children and its CEO Linda Oberhaus are banking on the idea that if you try hard enough at anything in life, something’s got to give.

“It’s pretty incredible,” Oberhaus said.

While typically on a hot day, people relax, the Naples group is taking a stand against domestic violence in the community.

With 75 men and 5,000 fliers, they impacted thousands of lives.

Over 1,500 domestic violence calls were made to 911 in Collier County in 2021. And that’s just the ones who made actually made the call. Studies indicate that number is maybe only half of the people that are victims of domestic violence.

So those 75 men took to the streets of Collier County on a hot Tuesday in March to spread hope that there is help available.

If you or someone you know needs help and are a victim of domestic violence or human trafficking, call 239-775-1101 to get help.
