Nikki Sheaks joined the WINK weather team in April of 2023.
She spent the past few years as a Weekday Meteorologist at WJHG/WECP in Panama City Beach, FL. While there, Nikki covered tornados, tropical weather, and fires across Northwest Florida. Nikki also did in-depth stories on environmental topics like recycling and issues facing animals and animal rescues. She was a finalist at the 2022 Florida Association of Broadcast Journalism for her Climate / Environmental reporting.
Previously, Nikki worked as a Multimedia Journalist and Meteorologist in Grand Junction, Colorado. She had the opportunity to do live forecasts from the Aspen X-Games, the Junior College World Series, and one of Colorado's largest country music festivals.
She started off her television career at WSVN in Miami as a writer.
Nikki was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated with a Dual-Degree in Atmospheric Science and Broadcast Journalism from Florida International University. In between studying, Nikki was involved with the Atmospheric Science Honor Society and was a part of the FIU cheerleading team.
Nikki was granted the designation of a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society in March of 2023.
In her free time, you'll most likely find her at the beach. She enjoys reading, running, traveling, and playing with her cats.
