Pedestrian hit in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. – New details on a vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred Wednesday night.

Police say Laura Nelson was hit by a car and killed just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Winkler Avenue and Fowler Street.

Investigators say she stepped in front of an SUV. According to officials, the car’s driver was not at fault. Police say Nelson had been drinking.
