Texas officer pulls off traffic stop proposal

GALVESTON, Texas- A woman who got pulled-over by a police officer was completely blindsided by the result of the stop.

Instead of reading her rights, she was asked the most important question of her life.

Galveston Police Officer Gregory Parris is used to making traffic stops, but this stop made his heart race.

“That day I was very nervous,” said Parris.

He wasn’t catching a criminal, he was pulling over the love of his life.

Parris watched from his squad car as another officer turned on his sirens and pulled over Sarah Wolff. It was all part of an elaborate plan by Officer Parris and Galveston police.

“They both deserve academy awards,” said Wolff.

Wolff had no idea why she was getting pulled over. When the officer came to her window, he told her she had a broken tail light.

Dash cam video shows what happens next. With a straight face, the officer tells Wolff she has outstanding warrants and asks her to get out of the car.

“I had no idea what was about to happen,” said Wolff.

A lieutenant shows up to sort through it all and calls Officer Parris to make his move.

“He said, ‘do u want her in handcuffs?’ And I said ‘no, don’t put her in handcuffs!” said Parris.

He drives up, walks out, and gets down on one knee.

“He said ‘Sarah Jane Wolff, will u be my wife?”

Wolff said yes, and it’s a good thing she did too.

“She might have gone to jail somehow!” said Parris.

“I can’t imagine being proposed any better than that, it was perfect for us.”

A perfect proposal, by a police officer who wanted to make sure this one, didn’t get away.

“This is my number one, all time, best traffic stop by far,” said Parris.
