MGN Online CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office are attempting to contact an anonymous tipster concerning information on an unsolved homicide. On Wednesday Feb. 4, a resident sent in an anonymous tip through the Sheriff’s Office online reporting system concerning a particular unsolved murder case. The Cold Case detectives understand and respect the person’s desire to remain anonymous, but they think the information provided in the tip was significant. They would very much like to speak with the person who provided this information. The detectives are not asking the person to provide their identity unless they want to; a phone call would be sufficient. They ask that the person who sent in the tip on February 4, please call the Cold Case/ Major Crimes Unit at (941) 575-5361 during business hours. If the person calls and gets an answering machine, please leave a message with a number they are comfortable providing or with a time they will call back so we can keep the line clear. Authorities are not identifying the specific murder case because it is still under investigation.
