LARGO, Fla. (AP) – A Pinellas County judge reduced bail for a Clearwater High School teacher accused of killing her ex-husband. The Tampa Bay Times reports (http://bit.ly/1MNLkvn) that 45-year-old Cara Ryan had been held on $500,000 bail. A judge reduced it to $250,000. Authorities allege that she shot John “J.J.” Rush after calling him to house the night of March 7 with a sexually suggestive text message. Rush, 45, was a former St. Petersburg police officer who more recently worked as an investigator in the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office. He and Ryan divorced in 2006 but had been in an on-and-off relationship. Prosecutors said Rush had moved out of Ryan’s home about three weeks before the killing. Ryan’s attorney argued that she wasn’t a flight risk and had never been arrested.
