MIAMI, Fla. (CNN) – A disturbing discovery at an animal shelter in South Florida. Workers arriving at the Humane Society of Greater Miami Friday, found abandoned dogs in two crates.
The 16 Maltese or LHASA APSO Mic were in front of the facility, covered in feces.
The Executive Director of the Humane Society, Laurie Hoffman said, “it appears that they lived in crates, in urine, in feces, in filth, their whole life.”
The dogs are believed to be between 7-months and 9-years-old. They’re being quarantined and checked out to make sure they’re okay before being put up for adoption.
