ESTERO, Fla. – A new play area has opened up at the Coconut Point mall, and it serves as a reminder to give back to the Golisano Children’s Hospital. Hospital staff hope the new site will not just serve as place for kids to run around, but to also promote a healthy lifestyle. There’s also a sign inside that asks you to be a hero. The hospital is looking for Southwest Florida residents to donate to the new seven story children’s hospital being built at Lee Memorial System’s HealthPark. “We’ve been trying to spread the message that anyone can be a hero,” said spokeswoman Mary Briggs. “We’ve had a lot of great donors, big donors to build the new children’s hospital. Everyone in the community can help. Every little nickle, dime, dollar, $5, $10, it all helps.”
