CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A clean finish in the fight over trash along a local neighborhood’s streets. Garbage piled up for three weeks before neighbors called WINK News. They wanted to know why the mess hadn’t been cleaned up. Residents said the smell of the garbage splayed along their yards was unbearable. The pile of trash along Northeast 8th Terrace included food, huge pieces of furniture and mattresses. The grass is brown underneath because it was covered with garbage for so long, but gone is the stinky mountain of a mess. WINK News found out the people who dumped it there had been evicted. Waste Pro representatives said jobs like this are not in their contract. The job required heavy machinery, which is expensive to run, but Waste Pro said it would clean up the mess as a courtesy.
