‘Shark Tank’ featured Subzero Ice Cream opens in Naples

NORTH NAPLES, Fla.- An ice cream shop in Naples is using science to create your ice cream cup and the presentation is drawing a crowd.

Subzero is using blasts of nitrogen to freeze custom ice cream ingredients right in front of the customer.

It looks like a magic show with white smoke pouring out of the bowl and flowing onto the counter. The nitrogen blasts out the gas at negative 321 degrees.

“It’s a show,” said Naples franchise owner Kelly Zeban. “You can expect an awesome experience and a good product.”

Subzero expanded out of Utah after the original owners appeared on the hit show Shark Tank to ask for an investment.

The “sharks” didn’t buy in and said the company would be successful on its own.

Zeban and her family bought into the idea and added the first location in Southwest Florida on Airport-Pulling Road near Vanderbuilt.

“We did not expect it to be as big as it actually is,” said Zeban.

Products include options for gluten-free and vegan treats.
