1 fatally shot, 2 injured during robbery at soccer field

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) – A 19-year-old Palm Beach County man is accused of fatally shooting another man and injuring two others during an apparent robbery.

The shooting happened late Sunday near a field in Boynton Beach where the victims had been playing soccer.

Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said in a news release that Miguel Figueroa is charged with felony murder and robbery with a firearm. Investigators are looking for another suspect.

One man died at the scene. The others were treated for their injuries.

Their names haven’t been released.

Slater says an officer and K9 tracked a possible suspect to an apartment. They detained Figueroa and later arrested him.
