Lehigh Acres home invasion suspect gets life in prison

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A repeat offender arrested in 2014 for armed robbery and burglary with a firearm was sentenced Tuesday morning to two life terms behind bars.

Johnny Wade, 26, was found guilty in March of participating in a violent home invasion on 12th Street SW in Lehigh Acres.

He will remain in custody at the Lee County Jail until being transferred to a state prison facility.

“An anonymous tip put detectives on Wade’s trail, and their thorough follow up investigation led to a warrant being issued,” said Trish Routte, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers Coordinator. “Now that Wade has been found guilty on both charges, he will absolutely no longer be a threat to the Lee County community ever again.”
