BREAKING NEWS LCSO: Lehigh Acres shooting investigation underway

Late night Fort Myers crash caught on camera

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Four people were caught on camera taking off after a wild crash on Canal Street shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

“I knew it was a car accident because I heard the sound of it,” said Armani Ashley. “I heard it flipping and everything, I was sitting there and I was scared for them because of how it sounded.”

Videos show the vehicle slamming into another car before going through a fence and rolling over.

“In that video you can see the car crash through this fence behind me,” Ashley said. “The car came to rest behind me, then all four people took off.”

Ashley says she heard it all unfold, even the suspects jumping the fence and running away uninjured.

“I was startled, I just got up immediately and walked in the house. I didn’t want anybody to run across my path and come my way so I immediately got in the house, I was very scared for what could happen,” Ashley added.

Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Myers police officers set up a perimeter, searching for the four suspects. Authorities have not said if any of the suspects have been located at this time.
