Gonzales was one of two Golden Gate students who received the JROTC’s highest honor. (Stan Chambers Jr./WINK News) Golden Gate High School students Jacob Roberts and Hunter Gonzales received the JROTC’s highest honor, the Medal of Heroism, on Thursday. Roberts was honored for saving a drowning child and Gonzales was honored for saving a friend from a burning vehicle.
