FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nearly 2,000 pounds of meat from Panna Cafe Express To Go Inc., were recalled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the agency announced Sunday. Approximately 1,951 pounds of various meat and poultry products were produced “without the benefit of federal inspection and used the USDA marks of inspection without authorization,” the agency said in a statement. “The problem was discovered when FSIS personnel visited the uninspected facility following their application for a federal grant of inspection that had not yet been approved,” the agency said. “There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.” The North Miami Beach company sells Venezuelan cachitos and tequeños as well as empanadas from Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia.
