CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Inspired by United States’ strength after the 9/11 attacks, Corey Kent joined the Army.

Then Sgt. Kent lost both his legs while fighting in Afghanistan in 2010.

On Sunday, which marked the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation honored Sgt. Kent with a brand new smart home.

“I remember being in middle school and seeing it happen on the news and not really understanding what was going on, so for us to receive our home on this day from this organization that’s 9/11 centered is just amazing, we’re so thankful.”

Every inch of the home is custom built with wide halls and wheelchair-access areas so Sgt. Kent can return to cooking and all the other activities he had to give up.
