Cape Coral OKs hotel voucher program for homeless vets

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – City Council approved a $10,000 voucher program that incentivizes hotels to provide shelter to homeless military veterans.

The program is aimed at getting vets off the streets and into local hotels, though Ralph Santillo, Founder/President of Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation, acknowledged it’s only a short-term solution.

The hotels are reimbursed for putting veterans in rooms for several nights at a time.
