NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County Sheriff’s deputies identified an Illinois man as the person whose death sparked an investigation Friday at the Jones Mobile Home Park.
Terry Washington, 44, died in a trailer at 1895 N. Tamiami Trail, deputies said. Nearby residents said Washington was shot and a suspect is arrested, but the sheriff’s office declined to confirm that.
Neighbor Kenneth Clark said the shooter was Hispanic, in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall and overweight. Clark said he heard about three gunshots between 1 and 1:30 a.m., then saw a man come out of the trailer between 9 and 9:30 a.m., load clothing into a green Mini Cooper, and drive off.
