CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A fire at a nearby apartment complex shut down Del Prado Boulevard in both directions, according to the Cape Coral Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a call of a commercial structure fire at the Parker House Apartments in the 3800 block of Del Prado Blvd. South.

When they arrived, smoke could be seen coming from an apartment on the southeast corner on the second level of the complex.

Firefighters entered the apartment and discovered the fire in the bedroom. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Since the fire didn’t spread, all residents, except those who lived in apartment where the fire originated, were able to return to their apartments.

Red Cross provided assistance to a family of two and the renter whose apartment was damaged by the fire.
