LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A 24-year-old man accused of shooting at a local business owner is in custody, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Marvins Labissiere, of 2629 Sunniland Blvd., was arrested Friday for firing at the owner of Caribbean Cycles & Watercrafts, a motorcycle repair shop on 322 Gunnery Road South.

Just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, Labissiere was asked to leave after becoming agitated during a conversation with the owner, according to deputies.

Knowing from previous experience that Labissiere typically carried a firearm, the owner began to retreat to his office.

Moments later, Labissiere pulled out a gun from his waistband and shot at the owner.

While the owner wasn’t hit, the bullet did penetrate through the bathroom wall, deputies said.

Authorities tracked down Labissiere on State Road 82 and Haviland Avenue less than 24 hours after his violent outburst from witness descriptions.

He is in custody facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into a dwelling with an $80,000 bond.

Labissiere also has four prior arrests for two counts of battery and two counts of driving with a suspended or revoked license.
