Church bus crashes into a ditch on US-17 in DeSoto County

A bus crash in DeSoto County has left several people with injuries.

A church motor coach was traveling on US 17 near SW Wood St. just south of Arcadia when the right front tire suffered a failure, causing the bus to crash into a ditch.

There were 22 people on the bus when the crash happened. Seven bus occupants suffered minor injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Two of those passengers were taken to Bayfront Medical Center and five people were transported to DeSoto Memorial Hospital.
