Two men accused in an armed carjacking have been arrested in DeSoto County.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said the carjacking happened Monday night in Okeechobee. The suspects, identified as Ty’Juan Lewis, 18, and James Edison, 26, fled from deputies, crashing the car and fleeing on foot.

Edison, the passenger, was caught right away and had a gun, deputies said. Lewis, the driver, was seen Tuesday morning in a pasture west of Four Mile Grade and Highway 70 near Arcadia. A perimeter was set up and Lewis was taken into custody.

Both men are in the DeSoto County Jail. Edison faces charges of grand theft of a vehicle and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Lewis was arrested on an out-of-county warrant, according to jail records.
