The annual tree lighting celebration in Punta Gorda has been canceled due to the coronavirus.
The Halloween celebration, for now, is still on since the event isn’t sponsored by the city. But they do want to limit the number of people in the historic district.
Officials in Punta Gorda say there isn’t a way to hold these events safely.
