Police: Man arrested for shooting 17-year-old in Fort Myers

The U.S. Marshal task force said Tuesday that they arrested Roy Bernard Denson, 25, for shooting a 17-year-old boy at Thomas Street Apartments in Fort Myers over the weekend.

According to Fort Myers Police Department, police responded Sunday to a shooting around 7:20 p.m. in the 2900 block of Thomas Street. Police found a teen with gunshot injuries, and first responders gave the teen first aid before he was taken to the hospital.

The teen continues to be treated for his injuries and the shooting remains under investigation.

Denson faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder and is in custody at Lee County Jail on $750,000 bond.
