Businesses in Southwest Florida are looking forward to the holidays and the return of seasonal residents, both expected to bring in much-needed cash flow.

Many restaurants, grocery stores and warehouses are starting the seasonal hiring process now.

Some larger corporations, like Target and Amazon, expect to hire for the holidays in the coming months, but more are focused on filling full-time positions to meet the current demand.

“We’ve been fueled by demand from our customers, providing essential supplies and support to people who’ve had to shelter in place,” said Ardine Williams, Amazon’s vice president of workforce development. “And the demand has really allowed us to continue to create jobs and hire people across the United States.”

Williams says there are thousands of job opportunities coming to Florida, including staff positions at the Fort Myers Amazon warehouse at 10016 Bavaria Rd. All starting salaries are set at $15 an hour and full-time employees receive benefits beginning on their first day of work.
