Epsilon strengthens into a hurricane

Published: Updated:

As of 11 p.m. this evening, Tropical Storm Epsilon has strengthened into Hurricane Epsilon, with maximum sustained now at 75 mph. This marks the 10th hurricane of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season.

The storm is currently located about 615 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. Although Epsilon has become a hurricane, it will still pose no threat to Southwest Florida.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the island of Bermuda. A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.

Interests in Bermuda need to continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Epsilon, especially as its expected to strengthen.

Locally, Wednesday will be another breezy day of weather with scattered areas of rain!

Rain is expected to be largely light to moderate under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will peak in the low-mid 80s due to our increasing cloud cover.
