A Lehigh Acres man is accused of threatening a woman and her child with a gun during a road rage incident.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a two-vehicle road rage incident on State Road 80 (Palm Beach Boulevard) and Styles Road, in Alva.

FHP said both vehicles were traveling westbound on State Road 80.

The female victim, along with a minor child passenger, was driving a sedan-type of vehicle.

The suspect driver, Gregory Dale Snowden, 59, of Lehigh Acres, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet 3500 Pickup Truck.

While driving, Snowden pulled out a 9 mm Ruger handgun. During the incident, the right front of the pickup hit the left side of the woman’s car, causing significant damage to the driver’s side door.

The sedan ended up going across the eastbound lanes of SR-80 crashing in the ditch.

There were no injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Greg Bueno said, “You’re simply driving down the road and someone starts taking beyond aggressive maneuvers toward you. And you have a young child in the car. I’m sure she was terrified.”

Snowden was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, improper exhibition of a firearm, and reckless driving.
