Spotty showers possible this weekend

Published: Updated:

A non-tropical area of low pressure is expected to form between the Bahamas and Bermuda early next week. The system could gradually develop subtropical characteristics while it moves northeastward over the western Atlantic. This system will only have a short period of time to develop before it merges with a cold front by the middle of next week.

Right now, the National Hurricane Center is giving it a 10% chance of development within the next 5 days.

Elsewhere, we are quiet in the tropics for now. The official end of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season is on November 30th.

You can trust the Weather Authority will stay on top of it!

LOCAL FORECAST

Back in Southwest Florida, there should be enough moisture around for a few spotty showers this afternoon. Otherwise, highs will be back in the low-mid 80s with a mix of sun and clouds, and a breeze out the northeast.

Looking at this weekend as a whole, a few showers will be possible both Saturday and Sunday. It will NOT be a washout! For boaters, wave heights will lower so Gulf conditions will be much improved compared to last week.
