13-year-old critically injured after hit-and-run in school crosswalk in Osprey

A hit and-run involving a 13-year-old girl in Sarasota County happened Tuesday afternoon.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a dark silver car driving west on East Bay Street in Osprey began approaching a school crosswalk.

The young girl riding a bike was traveling north within the school crosswalk on East Bay St.

The dark silver car didn’t stop and hit the girl on her bike on her right side. She suffered critical injuries.

The car is said to have some windshield and front-end damage.
