Wednesday’s isolated storms to clear out by evening

High temperatures will reach the upper 80s and low to mid-90s under partly cloudy skies. High levels of humidity will still make our “feels like” temperatures hit the upper 90s in most of the WINK News viewing area during peak heating. Boaters will experience conditions on the water similar to what they have seen all week: Light chop and 1- to 2-foot Gulf wave heights and a light chop is forecast for our bays.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will grow in strength and coverage by the early-to-mid afternoon before rain chances begin to drop significantly in the evening. Severe weather is not expected.

The Weather Authority is tracking only one disturbance in the tropics with a low (30%) chance of formation by next week. A tropical wave will slowly drift into the Bay of Campeche this weekend, where it may attempt to organize into a named storm off the coast of Mexico and Texas. This will likely have little to no impact on Southwest Florida. The next named storm on our 2022 naming list is Danielle.
