The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested an East Naples Middle School they say made a threat on social media.
The sheriff’s office on Monday informed parents that there would be an increased deputy presence at the school on Tuesday while they investigated a report of a threat.
On Tuesday, deputies say they arrested a student who attends the school for posting the threat on social media. They have not released what the threat said.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says the student is facing a charge of making a written threat to kill or do bodily injury.
Deputies say their investigation also deemed the threat to not be credible. They say out of caution, there will continue to be an increased deputy presence at the school on Wednesday.
