Charlotte County High School (Credit: WINK News) The Punta Gorda Police Department says it arrested a Charlotte High School student on Thursday for making a threat against the school on Snapchat. Officers say they received a tip about the threat from North Port police that a student posted on Snapchat, saying they planned to “shoot up” the school. Police quickly identified the 14-year-old responsible for posting the threat. During an interview, the student told police that he posted the message but said it was meant to be a joke. Police say the teen did not have a weapon and found no evidence that he had the plan to carry out the threat on Thursday. The 14-year-old is facing charges of making a written threat of a mass shooting, which is a second-degree felony.
