Multiple victims, including a pregnant woman, died in a Glades County crash shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Lexus SUV was driving the wrong way on US 27, south of County Road 773, when it crashed head-on with a Jeep Compass.

Before the head-on crash, the Jeep was in the left lane on US 27.

After the crash, the Jeep was overturned and burst into flames while the Lexus came to a stop on US 27.

The driver and pregnant passenger in the Jeep were pronounced dead at the scene. The 28-year-old female passenger of the Lexus SUV was also killed in the crash.

The 37-year-old man driving the Lexus had serious injuries.

“The crash resulted in four fatalities, one of them being an unborn fetus, and a serious injury,” FHP lieutenant Gregory Bueno said.

FHP is still waiting to positively identify the driver and pregnant woman in the Jeep.

The crash remains under investigation.
