Hot, breezy Monday with chances for late showers

Published: Updated:

A hot day is in store for Southwest Florida! Highs will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s across the region with a bit of a breeze developing out of the north.

While most areas will remain dry, a stray shower or two will be possible late Monday into the evening for our inland areas.

Tuesday will be similar: breezy and warm with a chance for a stray shower.

By Wednesday, a weak front will slide in from the Atlantic, leading to a chance for a few showers by the afternoon.

Our next more noticeable front looks to arrive sometime Sunday into Monday of next week. This should lead to some better opportunities for rain this weekend into the start of next workweek, and then a cooldown to follow. In fact, long-range models have indicated that highs will drop to slightly below-average levels next week in the 70s, with a potential return to cooler nights in the 50s. We’ll continue to nail down that forecast over the coming days as certainty increases.
