It is a scene of fun for the whole family in Southwest Florida’s largest city as local musicians and artists gather to show off their work at the Cape Coral Music and Arts Fusion Walk.

It gives them a chance to be discovered by new people. Many of the vendors are right from Cape Coral, so seeing neighbors come out and buy their products means the world to them.

Putting up signs, closing roads to traffic, and setting up an event takes a lot of work, but the city of Cape Coral pulled out all the stops on Friday, just in time to launch its first-ever Cape Coral Music and Arts Fusion Walk.

“I do the weekend markets, and that’s every single weekend, so to know that there’s something bigger and exciting to bring everyone like out on a Friday night. I think it’s fantastic,” said Arielle Valle, a vendor at the Wallflower Shoppe.

Live music, dancing, and shopping finally came together after a canceled date back in November.

“We were looking to do a series of them kind of layered in between bike night, and obviously, with Hurricane Ian, that set us back,” said Michael Ilczyszyn, interim city manager for Cape Coral.

Despite the previous postponement, almost 20 vendors showed up to showcase their crafts.

“The community is really important to me, and I love being able to share what I’m passionate about with the people around me. So being able to do that with other passionate local businesses and small businesses, it just feels really great,” said Valle.

The city says that is the ultimate goal; entertain people from the Cape in downtown while boosting local businesses.

“To provide a space like that for them here in Cape Coral so that they don’t have to travel. It’s just a wonderful opportunity for all involved,” said Ilczyszyn.

The event is taking place on SE 47th Terrace. Festivities will go on until 9 p.m.
