Dilapidated shopping center being demolished to make way for apartments

A dilapidated shopping center is being torn down after sitting vacant for many years.

According to the Lee County Development map Hancock Bridge Square on North Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers will become the Hancock Bridge Apartments.

The complex will consist of 320 multi-family dwelling units with private, on-site recreational amenities.

Demolition of the vacant retail buildings is already underway.
