History made as Florida Everblades win third straight Kelly Cup title in OT

The crowd at Hertz Arena erupted the moment the game winning shot was made in overtime that earned the Florida Everblades their third consecutive Kelly Cup title.

The Everblades defeated the Kansas City Mavericks 4-3 in game five of the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals making the Everblades the first team in ECHL history to win three straight Kelly Cup titles.

The Everblades trailed 3-1 going into the third period, but after outshooting the Mavericks 18-3 Florida tied it up and sent the game to overtime.

Just three and a half minutes into overtime Matt Wedman scored the game winning goal and the Everblades made history.
