Professional Experience

I joined the WINK News team in January 2023 as a bilingual reporter. Before that, I interned at WTSP in Tampa, Florida. I was also a producer, anchor and reporter for WUFT News and its Spanish-language broadcast, Noticias WUFT, in Gainesville, Florida.

Awards & Recognitions

I am so grateful to have received various awards for breaking news and in-depth storytelling, including a 2024 Suncoast Regional Emmy for Breaking/Spot News ("Jet Crash on I-75"), the 2023 Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in Video Hard News ("Hurricane Ian: The Aftermath") and multiple wins in the National Electronic Media Association Student Competition for my coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Other honors include a Florida Society of Professional Journalists award for covering underrepresented communities and a Florida Society of News Editors recognition for enterprise writing.

News Philosophy

Its my goal to impact those who read or view my stories for the better, whether that be by keeping them informed daily or by giving them the platform to share their own story. Like the saying goes, “Journalism is the first draft of history,” and I'm glad to be able to tell it!

Education

I am a proud alum of the University of Florida... go Gators! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communications with an outside concentration in history.

Birthplace

I was born in Miami, Florida, and raised near Tampa.

Hobbies, Interests & Community Involvement

When I'm not working, I'm busy being a full-time dog mom to a miniature Goldendoodle named Wendy. We love finding new places to explore together. My favorite thing to do is spend time with friends and family. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, gardening and listening to way too much Taylor Swift!

Favorite thing (what you like best) about Southwest Florida

Being close to my family! And, the weather. It's hard to beat year-round sunshine.
