FMPD releases sketch of suspicious person

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Fort Myers Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying a person who is wanted for questioning.

Monday, around 9:11 a.m., the Fort Myers Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Oleander Avenue and Iroquois Avenue. Police made contact with the mother of a 14-year-old girl who advised she was approached by an unknown Hispanic man near her bus stop.

The suspect was driving a gray, older two-door convertible vehicle with three indented lines in the rear quarter panels that appeared to be designs. The victim says the suspect began talking to her in an attempt to get her inside his car. When the teen said no, the suspect became upset and exited the vehicle. The 14-year-old ran home and told her mother.

The suspect is described as being in his mid to late 30s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a full beard. Police say he was wearing a black t-shirt with a red crown emblem on one of the shoulders with white lettering in the middle of the shirt surrounded by a gold design. The suspect spoke English but with a very heavy accent.
