LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Elections Supervisor Sharon Harrington is announcing that she will run for re-election in 2016. But she will have opposition. Dan Sinclair, 48, has filed to run against Harrington. Sinclair says he has worked with computers since the 1980s and he is convinced that the elections office could be run much better and more efficiently that it is now. “It is ridiculous, no long-term planning and I do not believe that Sharon herself has any idea of what is going on,” said Sinclair. Harrington, recently dogged by her request for more money for new iPads, says she has the experience to do the job well. She has worked for the office since 1989, and been supervisor for more than 10 years. Victor Dotres also has filed papers to run for supervisor. It is a non-partisan position, and that means the candidates face off in the primary in August 2016.
