ROWLETT, Texas — A Texas police officer and a little girl he rescued have an unbreakable bond. Cpl. Patrick Ray of Rowlett Police Department saved Bexley Norvell from choking on a penny she accidentally swallowed last year. Bexley, now 3, invited him to a tea party to mark the anniversary of the life-saving event. The girl’s mother captured their latest encounter in a photo that shows them both at a tiny table on a lawn. Ray expects he’ll hear some teasing, but he won’t mind. “I can watch her get married. I can watch her have a family. She could have lost her life that day,” Ray said. “And I got super lucky.” Bexley knows just how lucky she is, too. “Whenever I do ask my children what do you want to pray for, Bexley always says, Officer P. Ray,” said Tammy Norvell, the girl’s mother.
